Child dies after being struck by car - Green Valley

A report will be prepared for the Coroner following the death of a child who was struck by a car in a driveway at Green Valley this afternoon.

Sometime after 3pm (Friday 12 July 2019), the one-year-old boy was struck by the vehicle at the front of a home on Whitford Road.

After the incident, the child's mother conveyed him to Liverpool Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command were notified and a crime was established at the address.

The vehicle involved, a Mitsubishi ASX, was seized by police at Liverpool Hospital.

It will be forensically examined.

A 36-year-old man, the child's father, has been subjected to mandatory blood and urine tests.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries.
