Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a toddler following an incident in Footscray on Monday.
Emergency services were called to a park at Maribyrnong Boulevard about 8pm on 27 December following reports a 2-year-old child was located unresponsive in a pond.
The child received medical assistance at the scene and was taken to hospital in a critical condition and sadly died overnight.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death however police are not treating the death as suspicious.
