Child hit by car at Ormeau

A three-year-old girl is in a stable but critical condition after being struck by a car in Ormeau this morning.

Initial investigations indicate just before 9am the girl crossed Goldmine Road in between two parked vehicles and was hit by a Toyota Corolla which was travelling northbound.

A registered nurse was at the scene and commenced CPR immediately.

The girl was able to be stabilised before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The 33-year-old female driver was not injured.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
