Child Involved in Serious Crash at Toongabbie

Inquiries are underway after a child was hit by a car in Toongabbie this afternoon.

About 4:45pm (Thursday 18 July 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a car on Octavia Street, Toongabbie.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 5-year-old boy at the scene. He was taken to Westmead Childrens Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The driver – a 36-year-old man – was uninjured.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command have commenced an investigation and established a crime scene.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
