Chris Grant added to Cricket Australia Contracted Umpires Panel

Victoria's Chris Grant has been rewarded for his umpiring excellence over the course of summer 2024-25 with a national contract.

Chris joins fellow Victorians Phil Gillespie, Shawn Craig, and Daryl Brigham as members of CA's Contracted Umpires Panel, having most recently taken the field in Victoria Premier Cricket's First Grade Grand Final between St Kilda and Carlton.

Chris's appointment marks another success story for Cricket Victoria's Umpire Development Pathways, fresh off a summer filled with State, National and International appointments.

Speaking on his appointment, Chris Grant said it's an honour and a privilege to be appointed to the Cricket Australia Contracted Umpire Panel.

"The guidance and support given to me by many people, both within and outside of the cricketing network, has helped me get to this point," said Grant.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be given this opportunity and I'm very much looking forward to what lies ahead."

Cricket Victoria Head of Umpiring and Community Coaching Ben Brennan said it was incredibly rewarding to see another Victorian umpire take the next step into the national spotlight.

"We are delighted for Chris on being named to Cricket Australia's Contracted Umpires Panel are incredibly excited to watch his skills continue to evolve," said Brennan.
