Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to flock to the City this festive season to revel in a wide range of events and activities for all ages to enjoy.
Number one on the list is the award-winning Rio Tinto Christmas Lights trail which is back from 22 November to 1 January, featuring 20 installations across central Perth.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City is ready for the festive season, with the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail taking centre stage as a must do Christmas experience for visitors and locals alike.
"Once again, Perth is set to be the Christmas capital of WA. Last year, the festive season brought more than $400 million in economic value to our local businesses and attracted more than one million people to the City. This year, we're expecting those numbers to rise even further.
"Christmas just wouldn't be the same without the magic of the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail. This year's trail features 14 new installations and six beloved favourites, all designed to light up the City and spread festive cheer. For our littlest adventurers, we've also created a shorter route, so the whole family can enjoy the Christmas spirit!" Mr Zempilas said.
For those who love the festive traditions the Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant on 7 December is an iconic event, along with the Christmas Nativity Show on 22-23 December at Forrest Place. Plus, the City will light up with fireworks every Saturday night in December!
Santa Claus will also be at Council House from 6 December on selected days, so make sure to stop by for a free photo with him before the big day.
For those who love a festive sing-along, the Noongar Carols for Beginners at the City of Perth Library will give you the chance to learn Noongar Christmas songs throughout December.
For a more relaxed experience, iCity volunteers will be guiding festive tours of the Christmas lights every Friday and Saturday in December (except 7 December, when the Pageant will take the spotlight)
Don't forget, tonight (Friday 22 November), the Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas will be turning on the Christmas lights in Forrest Place at 7:45pm—you won't want to miss it!
