Following the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and recent manager vacancies, the City of Greater Bendigo has confirmed a new structure for the organisation.
The refreshed structure will sharpen the organisation's focus on enhanced customer service, economic development and business attraction, and major project delivery.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cooney said he looked forward to recruiting to the manager roles.
"Bendigo is a fantastic place to live and work, and these roles represent an exciting opportunity for successful applicants to build their career while helping deliver for our community," Mr Cooney said.
"The manager roles are not newly funded roles in our organisation, they are either existing roles that have been vacated or are a merger or repurposing of roles to better support the strategic direction of the organisation.
"Bendigo and the wider region has much to offer skilled leaders who may be looking for a tree-change; culture, history, education, recreation and events can all be found here. We also have our amazing workplace, Galkangu, which would rival any new building in a capital city.
"As some staff have departed for new opportunities, it was the right time to consider what our organisation needed moving forward, and a key focus for me when I stepped into this role was lifting and modernising our approach to customer service.
"I am also very keen to support our business community and continue to attract new businesses to our region, which ultimately provide more opportunity for jobs in our community and help to strengthen the local economy.
"An increased focus on major project delivery has been driven by two things, the recent State Government announcement funding the Regional Sports Infrastructure Projects to invest in the Bendigo Stadium, Bendigo Showgrounds, and Bendigo Bowls and Croquet clubs, and our forward plan of infrastructure development to support our growing community.
"The manager roles will be advertised by the end of next week and our new structure is expected to take effect in November."
Two positions have been removed from the structure and affected staff have the opportunity to apply for other roles in the organisation, and four staff have been redeployed into other roles.
