The City of Greater Bendigo is this week represented at the Australian Tourism Exchange, which is Australia's biggest tourism business industry event.
For the first time since 2015 the event has been held in Melbourne, which has provided a great opportunity to host 50 delegates in Bendigo to experience the best of our city and region.
Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said the City was holding more than 120, 15-minute meetings with international tourism industry and media representatives to promote our local tourism offering.
"More than 30 countries are represented at the Australian Tourism Exchange, so this is an exciting opportunity to sell our amazing city and region not only to the local market but to international travellers looking for a unique experience," Mr Karamaloudis said.
"Our team is representing a range of our best tourism offerings, including The Great Stupa, Bendigo Tramways, Central Deborah Gold Mine, Ernest Hotel, Balgownie Estate, DUMAWUL Tours and Bendigo Art Gallery.
"DUMAWUL Tours, DJAARA's cultural tourism enterprise, is a new product that has been launched to the international market at this year's event and features two tour options, the Ulumbarra CBD walking tour and the Kooyoora Tour, a nature-based experience about 30 minutes outside of Bendigo.
"We believe these tours are an exciting opportunity to promote Traditional Owner culture and we have been delighted to welcome DUMAWUL to the Bendigo stand at this year's event to help in selling our city and region to the world."
The Australian Tourism Exchange runs from May 20 - May 23 and is held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
