City Invites Community Input On Budget Planning

Devonport City Council Tasmania

As preparations begin for the 2025/26 financial year budget, Devonport City Council is calling on community members to share their ideas and priorities for consideration. Public input plays a crucial role in shaping the financial decisions that guide the city's future.

This consultation process provides residents with an opportunity to guide how Council allocates funding, ensuring that the budget reflects the needs and aspirations of the Devonport community.

Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman highlighted the importance of community participation in the annual budget planning process, emphasising that local feedback helps shape investment in key projects and services.

"We welcome input on all aspects of community life-whether it's infrastructure projects, social initiatives, environmental sustainability, or other areas requiring attention," Cr Jarman said.

"Your voice matters. By sharing your thoughts, you can help guide the development of a budget that truly represents the priorities of our city."

Residents can submit their suggestions through Speak Up Devonport on Council's website, via email, by completing a submission form, or in writing.

Submissions are open until 5pm, Friday 28 February 2025 and can be made via:
