City Lit Way For 2025

A huge night of celebrations in the City marked the biggest ever New Year's Eve in the City of Light.

Up to 115,000 people gathered in and around the City to enjoy two spectacular fireworks shows at Elizabeth Quay thanks to our presenting partner, Roy Hill.

The early fireworks show at 8.30pm was prime time for families, while the midnight show, a first for Elizabeth Quay, saw revellers ring in the new year with a bang. Partygoers in Northbridge were also treated to a midnight fireworks display, ensuring the skies lit up for the new year wherever you were in the City.

Spectators enjoyed views of the Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge fireworks from prime vantage points at Kings Park, Birdiya Drive, Langley Park and South Perth.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said it was clear the City was the place to celebrate New Year's Eve.

"The Roy Hill New Year's Eve Celebrations was an incredible way to see out an exciting year," Mr Zempilas said.

"Elizabeth Quay was absolutely buzzing, with thousands coming together to celebrate – it was quite the sight!

"The City's foreshore was also alive with festivals goers as Freedom Time took over Supreme Court Gardens and Seasons at Langley Park.

"Thank you to the large crowds for being well-behaved and respectful, making it the perfect family-friendly event.

"A massive thanks also goes to Cardile for three fantastic fireworks displays at both Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge. They are getting bigger and better every year.

"And, of course, thank you to Roy Hill for partnering with the City of Perth on this celebratory occasion.

"It's been a massive year in the City of Light, and this summer has only just begun – with Summer Nights, AusCycling and Fringe to name a few. You're about to see that summer truly shines in the City."
