The City of Fremantle has welcomed the State Government's announcement that the Swan River Crossings project is progressing after the local community voiced a range of opinions and comments on the previous concept.
The City Of Fremantle considers the new design simpler, architecturally more elegant and avoids major changes to landscape and road layout at the southern end of a new bridge.
Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge said that the city looks forward to working with the State Government as the project moves through the approval processes and delivery.
"The City particularly looks forward to working with the project team in its planning to minimise any negative impacts on the community during construction," Mayor Fitzhardinge said.
