Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews remain on scene at a bushfire burning south of Mackay in the Clairview area. The fire is located west of the Bruce Highway, just south of Clairview. The fire continues to produce a large amount of thick smoke and motorists are advised to drive to conditions. This bushfire is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze. Nearby residents may be affected by a smoke haze. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
