The NSW Police Force will welcome 110 new probationary constables as Class 363 attests at the NSW Police Academy today (Friday 16 August 2024).
Her Excellency, The Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, the Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism, the Honourable Yasmin Catley MP, joined NSW Police Commissioner, Karen Webb APM to welcome the new recruits, who will next week be deployed to police stations across the state, where they will complete their first year of on-the-job training.

"Congratulations to Class 363 for your hard work and commitment that's culminated in being sworn into the NSW Police Force today.
"You have shown a steadfast commitment to serve and protect our community and we thank you for it.

"Our police work tirelessly to keep us safe, and this Government is committed to ensuring they have what they need to continue this important work. The decision to pay recruits has seen an outstanding uptick in the number of applications to join the NSWPF."
NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb APM said today's attestation was an unforgettable moment that marked the beginning of a rewarding and challenging career for the new probationary constables.
"Those attesting today have worked hard over the past eight months and I am proud to welcome them all into our world-class police force," Commissioner Webb said.
"They will have an integral role to play in serving their local communities and in keeping NSW safe.
"I encourage all the attesting probationary constables to seize every opportunity, never stop learning, and to take pride in the uniform you wear every day.
"The work you will do throughout your career will make a difference to countless lives."
While many recruits are Australian born, this year the graduating cohort is also made up of students from diverse backgrounds including from Iraq, Kuwait, Fiji, England and New Zealand. Seven recruits are First Nations.
Of the 110 recruits, 80 are men and 30 are women.
Seven recruits will also receive awards for outstanding academic, physical, marksmanship and practical policing achievements.
FACTS AND FIGURES ABOUT CLASS 363
A total of 110 recruits are being sworn in today.
The class comprises 80 men and 30 women.
The students will attest with the rank of probationary constable. Recruits will report to their stations for work from next Monday 19th August 2024.
They will then complete 12 months' on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.
They officially graduate with an Associate Degree in Policing Practice once they have passed all academic and operation standards. The officers will then be confirmed to the rank of constable.
While many recruits are Australian-born, this year the graduating cohort is also made up of students from diverse backgrounds. 101 were born in Australia and 9 were born overseas. Their countries of origin include New Zealand, Iraq, Kuwait, England and Fiji.
Seven recruits are indigenous.

- 31-35 – 9
- 36-40 – 5
- Over 40 – 3
