As water levels recede, MidCoast Council teams, supported by the Rural Fire Service (RFS) and contractors, are cleaning up flood-affected areas and ensuring public spaces are safe.
The main cleanup priorities are Taree Foreshore and Wingham Brush. Crews, working with the RFS, are clearing mud and debris from the Taree Foreshore paths ahead of this weekend's Tastefest event. At Wingham Brush, barricades are in place, and cleanup includes removing debris, cleaning amenities, reattaching the pontoon, and repairing bollards.
Other areas of focus include the swimming enclosures at Croki and Manning Point, which will be cleaned once water levels recede. Boat ramps have accumulated debris, and contractors are working to clear them.
No major infrastructure damage has been reported, though debris and mud are widespread.
MidCoast Council is dedicated to restoring public spaces and asks the public to be cautious while cleanup work continues.
