CLP's expanded Territory Tourism Discount Scheme kicks off today
1 October 2024
The newly elected CLP Government is delivering on its commitment to restore our unique Territory lifestyle by delivering a second round of the Territory Tourism Discount Scheme.
As of 1 October, all Territorians can access a discount of up to 25 per cent on tourism products and experiences booked across the Territory between October 1 and March 31.
The discount applies to eligible bookings made through Visitor Information Centres in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Yulara.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby said the CLP Government had a mandate from Territorians to reduce crime, rebuild our economy, and restore the Territory's lifestyle.
"We are extending the Territory Tourism Discount Scheme from two months to six months, and I encourage Territorians to plan ahead by making early bookings," she said.
"Our tourism industry work incredibly hard, and this is a great way we can support them to get locals and visitors alike back out enjoying the Territory we know and love.
"Under eight years of Labor, we know costs increased for tourism businesses. That's why we will back our tourism businesses by extending this scheme, and we have also committed to abolishing payroll tax for small businesses."
Available for transactions of up to $5,000, the discount will automatically be applied to sales of bookable product (excluding retail items and gift certificates). Territorians can use the discount as many times as they wish during the booking period.
The scheme is open in the Top End from 1 October for travel undertaken between 1 January to 31 March 2025.
For Central Australia, the scheme commenced 1 September for eligible travel undertaken between 1 October 2024 to 31 March 2025, to accommodate and incentivise forward bookings into regional areas.
The Territory Tourism Discount Scheme has been developed in partnership with the Northern Territory Regional Tourism Organisations, Tourism Top End and Tourism Central Australia, along with the Katherine Town Council.
