The long-awaited redevelopment of the Alexandra Park Pavilion is now complete, with the official opening ceremony held on Friday 30 August 2024.
The $10.5 million project marks a significant milestone for the Mornington community. The redevelopment has transformed the park into a premier sporting and community hub, thanks to funding by:
- Mornington Peninsula Shire, $4.5M
- State Government (Growing Suburbs Fund), $2.9M
- Federal Government (Community Health and Hospitals Program) via The Bays Hospital, $2.6M
- Alexandra Park Project, $400,000
- AFL Victoria, $100,000.
The project has delivered a new two-storey multi-use community, health, and sporting hub.
The four sporting clubs that call Alexandra Park home can move into a brand-new pavilion with modern clubrooms and facilities suited to the needs of all players, officials and spectators.
These enhancements will benefit a wide range of users, including the Mornington Cricket Club, Mornington Junior Football Club, Peninsula Raiders Superules, and the Mornington Football Netball Club.
