Cobram's Scott Reserve Pavilion Design Advances

Detailed design work will soon be underway for Cobram's Scott Reserve Pavilion to ready the project for future funding consideration.

At its December meeting, Moira Shire Council endorsed the development of a detailed design for the pavilion.

The initial concept shows a modern and spacious facility that meets AFL and Netball Victoria requirements, with a swooping roofline and separate spaces for social functions and changerooms.

This concept will be developed into detailed design documents which can be used for grant applications and for future construction tenders.

Moira Shire Council Chief Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said Council is considering a new building, as remodelling and refurbishment of the current facility was not feasible.

"We know that the current building doesn't meet user's needs and that the community has been advocating for a new space which meets current and future standards," Dr Emonson said.

"Modern sports infrastructure is key to helping to promote local sport and encourage wider participation, and progressing this to the detailed design work stage is part of Council continuing to work towards improving facilities for user groups.

Detailed design for the pavilion is expected to be completed in 2025/26. External funding for the building works will be pursued following the detailed design stage.
