Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour, Gurmesh Singh, said the Coffs Coast's crowning as Australia's number one coffee mecca is a massive achievement by the area's superb cafes and restaurants and their loyal customers.
Time Out Australia summed it up perfectly: "With 149 coffee shops and an impressive average of 287 reviews per café, Coffs Harbour brewed its way to the top."
Mr Singh - a self-confessed coffee fan - said this latest accolade would further consolidate Coffs' reputation as a destination of national significance.
"When Coffs Harbour was named the nation's coffee capital, I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was immensely proud of our hardworking hospitality sector who made us number one," Mr Singh said.
"As it turns out, Gold Coast (2nd), Melbourne (6th) and Sydney (10th) were no match for Coffs Harbour.
"Success deserves to be celebrated and this is a big win which can be shared by all our community.
"What a great start to 2025 for the Coffs Coast. May the good news keep coming."
Honourable mentions went to Dark Arts Café and Bar which "racked up almost 990 reviews on Google Maps with a spectacular 4.6 stars out of five" and Palate and Ply Café and Roastery, "another 4.6-star gem known for its hand-roasted beans and cold brew nitro coffee."
"Here on the Coffs Coast we're spoilt for choice because there are great coffee shops everywhere you go," Mr Singh said.
