The much-anticipated Wagga Comedy Fest is now on and promises to warm you up with laughs, entertainment, delicious food and drinks this long weekend.
A premiere line up of comedians has encouraged early sales, with some shows already sold out, but others still have seats available for those who like to plan late.
Civic Theatre Manager Carissa Campbell said this year's festival is larger than ever before with five days of laughs to take advantage of the long weekend.
"This year we have seen the highest number of pre-sale tickets ever. People just want to get out and have a good time," Ms Campbell said.
"My hot tip for this year is to plan ahead because you might miss out if your plan is to buy on the night."
Wagga Comedy Fest 2021 officially kicked off on Wednesday night (9 June) with a sold-out show by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.
The line-up for the rest of the weekend includes Wil Anderson, The Umbilical Brothers, Nat's What I Reckon, ABC Radio's Thank God It's Friday, Nurse Georgie Carroll, Shad & Pete and the Riverina Comedy Club.
"Wil Anderson's show Wilegal is selling pretty quickly." Ms Campbell said.
"We deliberately booked two nights with Wil because the show is all about getting arrested on the way to Wagga. We knew there would be a lot of interest in seeing him perform the show here, where it all began."
The popular Winter Markets is also back, with hot food, drinks and free laughs on offer from Thursday to Saturday (12 June).
The heated market marquee will have some new food vendors this year as well as the old favourites.
"We are excited to welcome Easy Catering to the markets this year with loaded hot dogs, hot chips and feel good winter food. Marbull Catering are also new with haloumi fries, brisket burgers and noodles featuring on their menu."
The crowd favourites have not been forgotten though with the Smoking Butcher serving up meals to all carnivores on Saturday night and the Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory giving everyone their sugar fix.
"The Winter Markets would not be complete without a drink to wash down your meal, so this year we will be keeping it local with Borambola Wines and the Thirsty Crow Brewery keeping you hydrated." Ms Campbell said
The Civic Theatre is accepting Discover NSW voucher for advance bookings, but vouchers are not able to be redeemed on the night for last-minute door sales.
