CommBank Pararoos Squad Announced For Training Camp

CommBank Pararoos Head Coach Kai Lammert has announced an 18-player squad for an important training camp ahead of a busy period for the team.

With under 100 days remaining until the IFCPF World Cup in Salou, Spain, each training camp grows increasingly significant as the team strives to achieve a top 10 finish at the tournament for the first time in history.

The training camp will be held at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney, from August 30 to September 1. As part of the camp, an open training session will take place at Wanderers Football Park on Saturday, August 31 at 1:00pm AEST, where fans are encouraged to come and support the team.

In addition to preparing for the World Cup, the camp comes just before the National Para Football Championships, scheduled to take place in Canberra from September 11-14. The National Para Football Championships will offer another platform for players to showcase their skills and make their case for inclusion in the final World Cup team.

Despite their tireless preparation for the World Cup, the CommBank Pararoos are still working to raise the necessary funds to travel to Spain. The recently launched Undefeated Challenge aims to generate the support needed for their journey. To learn more about the challenge and how you can support the CommBank Pararoos, click here.

Lammert's current squad is a blend of youth and experience, with players from seven different Member Federations represented. After almost a year of preparation for the World Cup, Lammert says the squad is improving each time they meet.

"Over the past year, this squad has shown tremendous growth. The commitment and effort from every player have been outstanding, and we're starting to see that hard work translate into real progress on the field," Lammert said.

"Selection for the World Cup squad is incredibly competitive, and that's a testament to the depth of talent we have in this program.

"This camp along with the National Para Football Championships in Canberra will be critical in helping us make those tough decisions," Lammert concluded.
