Your feedback is invited on a proposal to make the park on the corner of Ray and Dixon streets bigger by extending the green space into the Ray Street roadway between Dixon and Thanet streets.
As background, last year we built a new park on the corner of Ray and Dixon streets that has proved popular with the local community.
Following the success of the new park, we are now looking to extend the parkland into the Ray Street roadway and give residents even more green space to enjoy.
Before we progress this proposal any further, we first want to establish if you support the expansion of the park into Ray Street.
We also want to hear how you are enjoying the Dixon Street park now and, if we do extend the park, what you would like to see in the new community space.
It's important to note:
- any new park at this location is suited to passive activities only – dog walking, relaxing, etc. The size of the space will not accommodate active sports or use as a dog off-leash park.
- any design will take into consideration that existing access to the three properties on Ray Street is to be maintained.

How to have your say
By Friday 2 May 2025, share your views by completing a short survey on the Connect Stonnington engagement hub
At the close of consultation, your views will be considered in a decision to progress this proposal. If the proposal does proceed, what you tell us will inform the development of a draft concept design that we will share with you for feedback at a later date.
This park development proposal supports Council's ongoing commitment to identifying opportunities to increase the amount of green space in our local neighbourhoods.
