- 2025-26 CSRFF and CNLP Forward Planning round supports 32 sport and recreation facilities
- More than $17.5 million supporting local community sport and recreation facilities to receive essential upgrades
- Funds contribute to increasing physical activity and participation in sport by supporting the financing of community infrastructure and lighting up facilities for longer hours of use
Communities across Western Australia can look forward to improved sport and recreation facilities as the latest funding from the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and Club Night Lights Program (CNLP) will support essential upgrades, made possible by the Cook Government.
The 2025-26 CSRFF Forward Planning round has provided $14,960,138 in grants for 23 projects, and nine projects have received $2,623,358 in grants from the 2025-26 CNLP Forward Planning round.
These programs have delivered a total of $17,583,496 in funding to grow participation rates in the sport and recreation sector by supporting local governments, community organisations and sporting clubs in procuring much needed facility upgrades.
Examples of recipient projects from this round include floodlighting installations, changeroom and amenity improvements, turf resurfacing, skate park and BMX/pump track installations, construction of an outdoor swimming pool, and much more.
These upgrades make facilities more accessible, keep communities connected, and allow more Western Australians to participate in an active, healthy lifestyle.
Administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the next round of the CSRFF and CNLP programs are open, closing on 31 March 2025.

"An enormous investment of more than $17.5 million has been made by the Cook Government to support upgrades to 32 local community sport and recreation facilities.
"Local sports centres, pools and clubs keep communities connected and are vital to ensuring every Western Australian can access and participate in a more active and healthier lifestyle.
"The positive outcomes from this 2025-26 round highlight the importance of the CSRFF and CNLP programs and the impact they continue to have on WA communities."
