Councillors, Council's Executive and other staff will visit nine communities across the Clarence Valley during April and May to discuss the draft Community Strategic Plan 2032
The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) is a 10-year plan setting out the community's priorities and aspirations for the future and is perhaps the single most important of all strategic planning documents produced by Council.
The plan is revised at the start of each new council and is currently on exhibition until 4pm, 6 May 2022.
Despite challenges surrounding COVID-19, more than one thousand Clarence Valley residents provided direct input into the production of the CSP.
The drop-in sessions will provide community members with the opportunity to meet the new councillors, and to discuss the draft CSP.
Community members will be able to access paper and digital copies of the draft plan and an opportunity to provide feedback; either online, on paper or verbally.
The engagement ensures Council that the plan accurately reflects community feedback.

The CSP forms part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework which was introduced in 2009. The IP&R Framework allows Council to bring plans and strategies together to support a clear vision for the future and provide an agreed roadmap for delivery.
In essence it is a guiding document that shows the way for the planning documents that fall beneath it, such as the Delivery Program (next 4 years), Operational Plan (next 12 months) and Workforce Management Strategy.
CSPs are reviewed every four years with the election of a new council, which means it is a living document that maintains its forward vision and allows for changes in community expectations or aspirations to be incorporated into future planning.
