Community Events Galore For Playford Easter Fun

Community events galore for Playford Easter fun
It's Easter time in Playford, so head down to John McVeity Centre and enjoy our Easter Market!

Exciting community events are set to showcase Playford's unique, handcrafted products and delicious gourmet treats and provide the community with a day of fun in a family-friendly atmosphere.

On Saturday 12 April the City of Playford presents an Easter Market alongside the annual The Precinct Open Day.

The much-loved Easter market will be held at the John McVeity Centre from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, providing small businesses and talented local creators the opportunity to offer their products to the wider community.

As Council continues to focus on supporting the next generation of young entrepreneurs, a selection of arts and crafts, homemade goods to handmade creations means marketgoers will be spoilt for choice as they wander the aisles at this year's market.

Stallholders will offer macrame products, knitted items, sensory products, and a stall from local favourite the SA Country Women's Association will also be a feature for attendees.

Families can enjoy a variety of free activities, including a bouncy castle, play gym zone and a chance to try pickleball with friends. As a bonus, attendees can participate in an egg hunt and a free family movie night showing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starting at 6:30pm - making it the perfect evening out for all ages.

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is excited to present two great events for the community to head along to and encourages families, and lovers of handmade items to get involved.

"Local markets are really important events in any community. Not only do they add vibrancy and character to our community but they also provide small businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and services," Mayor Docherty said.

"We have a multitude of creative and talented people who make and create incredible products right here in our City. Council play an important role to help provide a space for its local entrepreneurs to be noticed by the wider community.

"These events are important for our community as they serve as a vehicle to encourage community connection and put Playford on the map with its depth of local events."

A highlight and feature at recent Playford events is the community Toy Swap and it will be held at the Easter Market from 4pm-5pm. Families can pass on pre-loved toys and find something new by booking at https://bit.ly/JMCToySwap.

To keep the good times rolling, The Precinct Open Day on April 12 from 9:30am to 2pm invites the community to enjoy its green space, sample Easy Meals, take home fresh produce and seeds for the garden.

The community can also book into activities like Dig A Dino Picnic & Fossil Fun and Clay's Cool necklace making workshop via Eventbrite and https://bit.ly/DigaDino, or contact Precinct Community Hub.
