- Start of community engagement marks the first step in future planning of ECU Mount Lawley site
- Community engagement survey results to help inform project vision for site
Community engagement has commenced for the Edith Cowan University (ECU) Mount Lawley Campus site, with the local community to be asked for feedback into the future of the site.
As part of the engagement, a values-mapping survey of surrounding residents and businesses will gauge community views, perceptions, values and aspirations for the area.
The results will provide valuable insights that will inform the State Government's planning for the site, and subsequent project phases including the preparation of concept plans.

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:
"The future ECU Mount Lawley Campus redevelopment presents an opportunity to create a modern, dynamic space that meet the evolving needs of our community.
"It's important to find out and engage with the public to determine what the local community's aspirations are for the site so this can be incorporated as part of any future development.
"This initial engagement and survey will run for two weeks and close on Sunday 5 May 2024."
As stated by Mount Lawley MLA Simon Millman:
"The ECU campus has long been the creative heart of Mount Lawley, and we now enter an exciting time for the community to have a say on how people would like to see that legacy preserved and enhanced.
"It is already great news that students at Mount Lawley Senior High School will have access to the world class facilities at WAAPA.
"I encourage the Mount Lawley community to participate in this survey as the first step of our community consultation process."
