City of Mount Gambier proposes to revoke the community land classification applicable to a screening reserve with a total size of 12 square metres located at Jubilee Highway West, Suttontown.
Local business Steeline, owner of adjoining parcels of land on Fraser Court Suttontown, has sought approval from Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to construct an exit-only driveway, requiring right of access over the screening reserve as part of a Development Application.
"Generally, whilst not prevented from doing so, the subject land is not used by the public, given its size and location. Council has identified the subject land to be surplus to its requirements and seeks to dispose of the land accordingly," City of Mount Gambier Manager Governance and Property Brittany Shelton said.
"DIT has provided in-principle support for the proposal, but in order to facilitate such development, the community land classification over the adjoining screening reserve would need to be revoked."
Council invites submissions of support or objection to the proposed revocation, including reasons, until 5:00pm on Wednesday 8 January 2025.
