Mosaics are set to adorn stobie poles in the southern area of the Barossa following approval of a community-led art project.
To be auspiced bySouthern Barossa Alliance and piloted in Lyndoch, with Council providing in-kind support, a small team will be responsible for approving proposed designs in line with SA Power Networks guidelines.
The Barossa Stobie Pole Community Art Project comes on the back of the recent successful 'Reflection Sofas' initiative. It aims to beautify the area and support social connection and creativity to enhance wellbeing for participants.
Participation is open to all interested people, and mosaic artists have expressed interest in providing support and mentoring, with donations of mosaic materials and equipment already secured.
The project will commence in Lyndoch to link public spaces in a consolidated area and achieve the best placemaking outcomes. The project is also expected to enhance tourism and strengthen township identity for local residents.
