Council is pleased to advise it will be launching its Community Planning Program in Glenburn and Thornton later this year.
With Community Plans already developed in the townships of Eildon, Marysville, Toolangi-Castella and Yea with really positive results, it's now time for Glenburn and Thornton to have a turn!
Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Sue Carpenter said Council's Community Planning framework has proven to be very successful so far and it's exciting to now be gearing up for the same community-led process in these two towns.
'Community planning is all about putting communities in the driver's seat to collaborate and plan for the future. With a little support from Council, Glenburn and Thornton communities will identify opportunities and priorities for their towns to enable them to develop community plans.
'Prior to launching, we're looking for people to help us plan how these projects will be delivered. We recognise that each town is unique in its own way and has different needs to be considered.
'So, if you live or work in Glenburn or Thornton, enjoy visiting or feel connected to either of these towns in some way, I encourage you to come along to one of our drop-in sessions for a chat and to learn more about how you can be part of the Core Team for your town.
'We'll be holding drop-in sessions in Thornton at the Hall on Monday 22 August from 7.00 to 8.00 pm, the General Store on Wednesday 24 August from 9.30 to 11.00 am and at the Rubicon Hotel on Thursday 25 August from 5.00 to 6.00 pm.
