We're looking for community members, who share a love for music and dance, to take part in a fun, online community project called Standing on the Ceiling.
Shake and shimmy your lockdown blues away by getting involved in this new and innovative project that brings people together, online, from all levels of singing and dancing ability.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said that this was a great opportunity for community members to join a virtual gathering of people working together to create art.
"If you're looking for a great weekend activity that is fun, social and meaningful, consider registering your interest to be part of the Standing on the Ceiling movement," Cr Bradbery said.
"The first meeting of this new community is this Saturday 14 August. Participants will meet online and get to say hello to the artists involved in running the program, learn the start of a new Gong song and share stories in the comfort and safety of your own home."
Standing on the Ceiling is a collaborative project facilitated by Wollongong City Council as well as singer, songwriter and artist Jodi Phillis (The Clouds) as Composer, the innovative Lisa Maris McDonnell as Choreographer, and local Port Kembla legend Malika Reese as Writer.
