Atlantic Canada's small towns and rural areas are vibrant places bustling with economic, social and cultural activity. The Government of Canada is investing to help communities in the Lunenburg area thrive, building long-term prosperity.

Improving visitor experiences, and business opportunities

Today, the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA, announced total contributions of nearly $2.2 million for three community organizations, a municipality and a local food producer in Nova Scotia's South Shore.

The funding will help the Lunenburg Yacht Club (LYC), the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society, the Town of Mahone Bay, South Shore Opportunities Incorporated and Terra Beata Farms to host sporting and cultural events, upgrade tourism infrastructure, purchase new automated equipment and deliver programming to support entrepreneurs and growing businesses, thus increasing visitation to the Lunenburg area and setting the stage for growth.
