Conflict Of Interest In NDIS Provider Market

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) would like to inform National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, their families and carers and NDIS providers on work undertaken to identify, disclose and manage conflicts of interest in the NDIS provider market.

From May to July 2024, the NDIA met with participants, providers, and disability organisations to understand experiences people have had with conflicts of interest and what resources would help support them to manage the conflicts.

Following the co-design sessions, the NDIA has been developing a suite of resources (information and practical tools) to support participants and help educate and support the NDIS market with conflicts of interest.

These resources include:

  • An NDIA Position Statement on conflicts of interest in the NDIS provider market
  • Support specific factsheets which include case studies that describe common conflict of interest situations
  • Checklists to manage conflicts of interest

The NDIA aims to publish the COI resources and NDIA Conflicts of Interest Position Statement in the coming months.
