Run Army is returning to Brisbane and Townsville this March and April to celebrate health and wellbeing, while raising much needed funds for Emergency Services.
The annual fundraising event brings community members together to participate in either a 5km or 10km fun run or walk, with participants electing an emergency services charity to raise money for.
For Queensland Police Service (QPS) members, it's an opportunity to fundraise for the Queensland Police Legacy (QPL) which supports the families of officers who've lost their lives on duty or due to illness.
Constable Rebeckah Boelcsfoeldi is participating in Run Army for the first time this year, after seeing the positive impacts supporting charities, such as QPL, can have on people's lives.

"Running is an important part of my life, helping me to prioritise my own mental health, balance my work and family commitments, and implement discipline and resilience into my everyday life," Constable Boelcsfoeldi said.
"Having spent a year on the frontline and experiencing that sense of comradery that comes with being a part of the QPS family, Run Army is the perfect opportunity to blend two important facets of my life - running for health and wellbeing and supporting Queensland Police Legacy at the same time."
Since QPL's foundation in 1971, the vital not-for-profit organisation has been dedicated to caring for families of officers who have lost their lives on duty, or due to illness as well as those diagnosed with a terminal illness, by offering financial support during an already difficult time.
Constable Boelcsfoeldi acknowledges the challenges that come with working as a police officer and applauds the efforts of QPL.
"Every day presents a new challenge, and there are times when policing can be tough on the families of officers," Constable Boelcsfoeldi said.
"Queensland Police Legacy helps the families of fallen officers find their feet as they navigate through life without their loved one, and as a mother working on the frontline, this is something I hold dear."
The annual event will occur in Brisbane on Sunday, March 30 and in Townsville on Sunday, April 6, and those unable to be there on the day can still take part by participating in a virtual event.
Registrations are open now and everyone is welcome to participate in their choice of the 5km, 10km or virtual events, or simply make a donation to their chosen charity.
