Construction on the highly anticipated Redlynch Skatepark upgrade is set to start this month.
Following thorough community consultation and approval of the concept design, construction is set to start 22 July, which aims to enhance the park's functionality and appeal.
Division 6 Councillor Kristy Vallely said: "We're proud to see this project come to fruition, reflecting our commitment to creating inclusive recreational spaces that foster community engagement and pride."
Key features of the upgrade include a vertical extension, a hipped bowl-end, and an advanced stair set, catering to various skill levels and riding styles.
Construction Details:
- Scope of Work: The construction will involve the installation of new skatepark features, including a vertical extension, a hipped bowl-end, and an advanced stair set. Additionally, improvements will be made to address water and dirt transfer issues, ensuring optimal usability of the park.
- Contractors and suppliers: Local suppliers and contractors will be engaged for the construction phase, supporting the local economy and fostering community involvement.
- Timeline: Construction is scheduled to commence on 22 July and is expected to be completed by late 2024.
