Construction Underway On New Point Cook Police Station

VIC Premier

The Point Cook community is one step closer to receiving a new state-of-the-art police station thanks to an investment from the Allan Labor Government.

Minister for Police Anthony Carbines today visited the Point Cook Homestead Road site to mark the beginning of construction for the police station - a vital resource for one of Victoria's fastest growing suburbs.

The Labor Government's $25 million investment will deliver a station with modern facilities for Victoria Police - giving them the best law enforcement infrastructure so our hardworking police can continue to keep the community safe.

The new station - built by contractor Harris HMC - is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

Key works include constructing the single-story building, creating new car parking and landscaping, road widening, and upgrading essential services.

Point Cook police station is one of four new state-of-the-art stations being delivered by the Labor Government, alongside South Melbourne, Clyde North and Narre Warren.

Since 2014, the Government has provided more than $423 million to build 19 new police stations and upgrade 15 more across Victoria.

This is part of the Labor Government's record investment of $4.5 billion to fund more than 3,600 new sworn police officers, deliver modern intelligence systems, infrastructure and new technology.

As stated by Minister for Police Anthony Carbines

"As the community grows, so does the need for police resources - this new station is another investment in community safety in the west."

"We're delivering modern police stations equipped with advanced design features, so our police have the facilities they need now and into the future."

As stated by Member for Point Cook Mathew Hilakari

"The new police station will provide better resources for our officers- giving them everything they need to do their critical work in keeping our community safe."
