Cooby Dam's Loveday Cove will re-open for recreation activities from 7am tomorrow (Saturday, April 9, 2022).
Toowoomba Regional Council Parks and Recreation Services portfolio leader Cr Tim McMahon said he was pleased to see the area re-open in time for the rest of the school holidays and the official Easter period.
Cr McMahon said Council officers and Department of Environment and Science officers reviewed conditions at the dam this morning (Friday, April 8).
"The dam water's bacterial and algal toxin levels are within the safe levels stipulated in Council's recently revised Recreational Water Quality Guidelines for opening the Loveday Cove area to the public," Cr McMahon said.
"The recreation area at the Cooby Dam wall remains closed until further notice. Lake Cressbrook and Lake Perseverance also are open for routine recreation activities."
