Cooby Dam's Loveday Cove Reopens for Primary Water Activities

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has today (Wednesday, 6 December, 2023) reopened Loveday Cove at Cooby Dam for primary contact water-based activities.

TRC Environment and Community Services Portfolio Lead Cr Tim McMahon said Council officers have been able to reopen the dam to primary water-based activities with microorganism levels returning to a low hazard rating.

"Council conducted its regular testing regime and have now been able to reopen Loveday Cove as well as the Dam Wall.

"Primary contact activities such as paddleboarding and sailing can again occur on Cooby Dam.

"We understand the importance of recreational activities at our dams to our community and are happy to advise water quality tests now meet the appropriate national standards for the reopening to occur,' Cr McMahon said.
