Cops Channel Childhood Nostalgia for Kids in Need

Members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) have come together in support of The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning program by hosting a fairy bread fundraiser at Police Headquarters, raising donations for the organisation's 'Pyjama Angels', who are matched with a child in care providing one-on-one in-home support.

The Fairy Bread Day fundraiser saw officers enjoying a touch of nostalgia in exchange for a donation for the program, which was developed to empower children in Foster Care with learning, life skills and confidence to change the direction of their lives.

Senior Sergeant Jo Broughton, one of the event organisers discussed the importance of supporting organisations such as The Pyjama Foundation.

"Either through fundraising or through QPS members being Pyjama Angels themselves, we are helping protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community," said Senior Sergeant Jo Broughton.

The Pyjama Foundation CEO Bronwyn Sheehan thanked QPS members for their commitment in supporting the important fundraiser.

"Having the QPS come on board for our Fairy Bread Day event is important to us because not only do we raise vital funds for our Love of Learning Program but we also build community awareness around the program in the hope that we can recruit more Pyjama Angels for our ever growing list of children in need".
