Corio Police Arrest Offenders In Stolen Car

Four youths travelling in two stolen cars have been arrested by police in Corio this morning.

Police were originally called following reports a Mercedes SUV was stolen from the carpark of a gym in Bradfield Road in Werribee shortly before 10am.

With assistance from the victim, the car's location was tracked, and the Air Wing was called in.

The vehicle was spotted from the air, travelling in convoy with an allegedly stolen Nissan Patrol, as it travelled through Corio, Norlane, Little River and Lara.

Officers successfully deployed stop sticks as both vehicles travelled along Sandy Creek Road, near the You Yangs Regional Park, before two of the offenders dumped the Nissan and jumped into the Mercedes.

The Mercedes continued through Corio and North Geelong, driving on damaged rims, before coming to a stop in Cabernet Road in Corio.

The four occupants of the car, a 16-year-old girl, 23-year-old boy and a boy and girl aged 15 - were all arrested when police moved in.

The quartet, from Geelong, Hampton Park, Little River and Melton, will now be interviewed by police.

It is believed the Nissan Patrol was stolen from a gym in Hall Road in Carrum Downs yesterday.
