Victoria was notified of 71 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All were locally acquired cases.
There are 494 active cases in Victoria - 491 locally acquired and three overseas acquired cases.
There are 29 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 9 cases are in intensive care and five cases are on ventilators.
The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 21,526.
Update: Outbreaks
Of today's 71 local cases:
- 49 are linked to known outbreaks
- 22 cases have their acquisition source under investigation
- At least 16 were in isolation for the entirety of their infectious period
Among the cases linked to current outbreaks are:
- 14 linked to Shepparton - 36 in total
- 10 linked to the Hobsons Bay community - 61 in total
- 8 linked to MyCentre Child Care - 50 in total
- 5 linked to Royal Melbourne - 10 in total
Of the 494 active cases:
- 112 are aged between 0 and 9
- 100 are aged between 10 and 19
- 79 are aged between 20 and 29
There are currently more than 14,000 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.

The Department regularly manages exposure sites that it doesn't publish online, particularly if these sites represent lower-risk exposures, or if they have comprehensive record-keeping and contact tracing measures, or if they identify small, private locations - including smaller apartment or townhouse complexes.
Update: Vaccinations
22,191 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services yesterday.
The total number of doses administered through these services is 2,157,777.
Until Sunday, residential aged care and disability workers are able to walk up to more than 50 state vaccination centres in Victoria and get vaccinated with the vaccine of their choice, regardless of their age.
Staff can demonstrate their eligibility by showing their residential aged care or disability staff ID card.
There are 52,566 vaccine appointments available this week, including:
- More than 4,800 at Ford Factory, Geelong
- More than 3,300 at Sandown
- More than 1,000 at Wyndham Civic Centre
- More than 4,700 at Melton
- More than 4,000 at MCEC
- More than 2,200 at Melbourne Showgrounds
- More than 2,300 at the Plenty Ranges Arts Centre in South Morang
- More than 1,700 at Frankston's Bayside Centre
