Kempsey Shire Council has a range of wonderful facilities offered to the community. Many of our halls and tennis facilities are operated through a lease/licence or by volunteer committees called 'Section 355 Committees'.
Expressions of interests to lease/licence
Kempsey Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest to lease/licence the building of the former Smithtown Medical Centre (venue only, not a functioning medical centre), Smithtown Hall, Gladstone Tennis Facility and Kempsey Girl Guide Hall.
These four Council assets have been advertised on eProcure with expressions of interest to lease or license these closing on 28 July 2021.
You can find out more information on the leasing or licencing these Council assets at Current Tenders and EOIs
Section 355 venues
One way community members can be involved with the functioning of Council is to become a member of a Section 355 Committee, assisting in the management of community facilities.
Section 355 of the NSW Local Government Act 1993 makes provision for Council to delegate certain functions to Committees to provide these on behalf of the Council.
Interested community members are invited to attend the upcoming 2021 Annual General Meetings of Council's 355 Committees
