Cardinia Shire Council acknowledges the funding pledge of $3.5 million towards upgrading the Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve by state Liberal member for Gembrook and candidate for Berwick, Brad Battin.
The proposed project will deliver a new community, sport, and scout facility, which will include change rooms, umpires' rooms, gym, storage, social/community room, and scout facility.
As a substantial capital works project with a current cost estimate of over $9 million, Council continues to advocate for additional funding support from the state and federal governments to implement this important community project.
Alongside better sport and recreation facilities, key priorities for the council's advocacy efforts include better safer roads, public transport, mental health services, access to jobs, community places and services, outdoor spaces and protection for our environment.
