At the December meeting, Campaspe Shire Council endorsed the Kyabram Place Based Plan.
The Kyabram Place Based Plan was developed over 12 months, with a committee that engaged the community and identified a number of projects that would increase the towns liveability and contribute to the community vision of:
"A welcoming, inclusive and progressive community that embraces modern regional living."
Through the engagement process, the committee identified key actions to help achieve the vision of the town, including short term, long term and ongoing projects in areas of:
1. Health, welfare and social wellbeing;
2. Industry, education and training;
3. Natural and built environments;
4. Retail and tourism.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said it's great to see the Kyabram vision being brought to life in its Place Based Plan.
"The Place Based Plan was finalised and presented to Council in July 2021. At the time, Council noted the plan rather than endorsing it. The plan was noted due to a combination of factors including the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The Kyabram community has worked on many projects from the Place Based Plan over the last two years, including the Taste and Tunes event and are in the early stages of building a website for the town.
"Last night, Council voted to endorse the plan, committing to supporting the community on projects that require a broader scope and input from Council and invigorating the Place Based Planning process in Kyabram.
"It's really exciting to see Kyabram's plan endorsed, we look forward to seeing projects progress in the new year, providing support where we can," Cr Amos added.
