Local sport, culture and community groups and organisations will share in almost $240,000 as part of the latest round of recipients of the Go Clubs Infrastructure Assistance Grant.
From the installation of new solar panels, to constructing a storage shed and upgrading existing amenities, the approved funding will go towards various projects to support the development of improved facilities for local clubs and organisations.
The following 14 recipients have been awarded funding:
- Babinda Bowls Club – $4,173 (ex GST) for the replacement of water pipes
- Cairns and Districts Senior Citizens Association – $25,000 for re-tiling old and damaged floors
- Cairns Brass – $25,000 for bathroom renovations
- Cairns Cycling Club – $17,127 for the installation of solar panels
- Cairns Motorcycling Club – $25,000 for resurfacing track works
- Earlville Tennis Club – $25,000 for upgrading of kitchen facilities
- Gordonvale Turf Club – $7,000 (ex GST) for caretakers' residence rectification works
- Holloways-Cairns Croquet Club – $9,343 for outdoor amenities improvements
- Leichhardt Football Club – $5,000 for a storage container
- Marlin Coast Meals on Wheels – $23,827 (ex GST) for replacing existing kitchen flooring
- Redlynch Equestrian Association – $15,400 for replacement of the equestrian round yard
- Saints Hockey Club – $19,548 for constructing a storage shed
- Stratford Dolphins Football Club – $21,864 (ex GST) for LED field lighting upgrade
- Top of the State Rod and Custom Car Club – $14,877 for the installation of solar panels.
