Federation Council will soon commence actively conducting parking patrols to ensure that timed parking, loading zones and disability parking in our main shopping precincts of Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala are enforced.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said in managing street parking in the Federation Council local government area, we need to balance the needs of residents, commuters, shoppers and visitors.

"Our rangers will commence active patrols of parking areas to make sure this balance is working," he said.

"Council has a regulatory obligation to enforce parking requirements and to ensure public safety and traffic flow in accordance with applicable laws. It is important that residents and visitors can enjoy their visit and have accessible parking in close proximity to businesses and services that they are seeking. Parking patrols will be regular and ongoing to ensure continued compliance with the regulated parking requirements as sign-posted in each town centre."

To ensure everyone has time to adjust to parking enforcement, Council Rangers will be monitoring the above mentioned areas up until Friday 3 March, 2023 and issuing warnings only. From Saturday 4 March, 2023 any vehicle found to be parked contravening the above will be issued with a parking fine. We encourage drivers to obey the regulated parking signs that are on display in our town centres.

Council is also reminding motorists of the availability of longer term parking generally located in close proximity to the main shopping precincts.
