Goulburn Mulwaree Council has recently completed sampling and testing of the Goulburn and Marulan water supply systems for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), with the support of NSW Health.

The testing was conducted to assess potential risks associated with these chemicals in the local water supply.

The results of the testing showed that the levels of PFAS in both Goulburn and Marulan's water supplies were well below the current limits set in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG), as well as the proposed new guideline values.

A summary of the findings is provided below:

While these results are reassuring, Council remains vigilant regarding potential risks associated with PFAS and will continue to monitor and reassess these risks to ensure the ongoing safety of the community's water supply.
