Hello everybody. Happy Friday. It's Councillor Alexandria Carruthers here to bring you our Council Connect video for this week.
I'll make it quick. First of all, I would like to give a big shout-out to the Gresford Show Committee. Last night, they held the art show opening, and it was amazing! So congratulations and well done to everybody involved with pulling that together. With all of this rain, it still had a wonderful vibe, and lots of people enjoyed themselves.
So, down to business. As we know, there's a bit of water around at the moment. Our crews are closely monitoring the situation and working with the relevant authorities to do so. As updates happen, we will provide them via the Council's Facebook page. So just keep an eye on that over the next little while.
At the moment, the Waste Management Facility is 4WD access only. Remember to drive with caution and avoid low-lying areas where you can. There are a few bridge closures. We'll include what those are in the comments below.
The Clarence Town Structure Plan and flood study is up next. Council held an information session last Tuesday evening and we had a great turnout. It's great to see so many people coming along to have their input and have their say. That's really important. That's why these things go on exhibition. There is still time to have your say. The public exhibition is open until the 12th of March, so you can go online again. We'll include the link below with more information on that in the comments.
The Clarence Town Flood Plan survey is open until March 31st. Once again, we'll include the links below so that you can have your say as well. There are also printed copies of these available at Council's Administration Building and at the Clarence Town Post Office. So, if printing is an issue, there are some printed copies you can access at those two locations.
I'll just finish off with Community Builders which is still underway across the Shire. We've got some cow workshops coming up soon. Again, we'll include those in the comments below. There's one for Dungog, there's one for Vacy, one for Clarence Town, and there will be one for Paterson soon. If you want to have your say in what you want to see happening across the Shire and be a part of that Community Builders Program, which is brought to us by Rural Aid, then I do strongly encourage you to get along to those sessions.
Thank you. Happy Friday. Have a great weekend and stay dry.
