Mosquito treatments are ongoing across the city after the rainfall continued over the long weekend.
Townsville City Council staff will monitor and carry out ground treatments indefinitely to try to mitigate any major increase in mosquito populations.
Council will also conduct another aerial treatment from today that will cover 320 hectares between Toomulla and Cungulla – when the weather permits.
Residents are encouraged to protect themselves from mosquito bites by wearing long clothing, using repellent and emptying any pooled water in their yards.
