The results of the 2024 Corangamite Shire Local Government Election were declared in Camperdown today.
The Victorian Electoral Commission declared the final election results today at the Killara Centre.
It was the first election under the new seven-ward structure which was implemented in line with recommendation of the Victorian Electoral Commission.
All members of the previous Council were re-elected to represent their communities for the next four years.
They will be sworn in as new Corangamite Shire Councillors at a special Council meeting at the Killara Centre from 5 pm next Tuesday.
The Councillors-Elect will take the oath or affirmation of office, set the Mayoral term, and elect a Mayor and Deputy Mayor if so decided.
The meeting is open to the public, however, residents are encouraged to watch a livestream at corangamite.vic.gov.au/meetings or facebook.com/CorangamiteShire.
Regular business will return from the first Ordinary Council Meeting of the new term on Tuesday 26 November.
Corangamite Shire Chief Executive David Rae congratulated the Councillors-Elect and thanked all of the candidates who had nominated.
"Being a Councillor is a big commitment of time and energy. We appreciate that they are prepared to make that contribution. It's a really important part of the local democratic process.
"It's always an exciting time to commence a new term and the staff and I are looking forward to working with the new Council."
