The Cairns Taipans have scored a two-year sponsorship extension from Cairns Regional Council.
Council has been a proud sponsor of the Taipans since 2010, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to basketball in the region.
As the only national sporting team representing Cairns, the Taipans hold a special place in the hearts of locals, especially home games at the Cairns Convention Centre.
Cairns Mayor Amy Eden said the Taipans were an iconic sporting team.
"This sponsorship is a slam dunk for the Taipans and the Cairns community," she said.
"The Taipans are more than just a basketball team; they are part of the fabric of Cairns."
