Council of Europe Hosts FATF/MONEYVAL Anti-Fraud Summit

CoE/MONEYVAL

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and its European regional partner, Council of Europe's MONEYVAL, will hold a joint Plenary meeting at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 12 and 13 June aimed at strengthening the global fight against illicit finance.

The joint plenary, chaired by FATF President Elisa de Anda Madrazo and MONEYVAL Chair Nicola Mucciolo, will bring together members of the FATF Global Network, comprising more than 200 countries and international organisations, to reinforce the global response to the latest illicit finance threats.

Working in close partnership with the Global Network is a key priority for the FATF, as it aims to increase the implementation of effective, risk-based and inclusive measures to tackle financial crime around the world.

Following the meeting, Chairs of FATF-Style Regional Bodies will participate in a high-level annual meeting on 14 June aimed at building partnerships and exchanging knowledge across the Global Network.

The Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) is a Council of Europe monitoring body and a FATF Style Regional Body which assesses compliance with the main international standards to counter money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, as well as the effectiveness of their implementation. It comprises 35 jurisdictions, 32 of which are assessed solely by MONEYVAL.
